Federation Winter League

The Montgomery County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs’ Winter Trap League

The Federation Winter League consists of 4 clubs competing in scheduled competition on Sundays from October through February.  Each week the top five scores for each team are counted to determine a winning team.  Points are assigned to participating clubs based on their performance for the week.  The winning club is determined by the total of weekly team points at the end of the season.  Individual competitors are ranked for the season based on their best 13 out of 17 scores.  Team and individual awards are given at the Montgomery County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs’ banquet at the end of the season.  In the 2015-16 season LPRGC dominated the competition for the third year in a row, winning nearly every week!

Each year competitors battle the bitter cold, grueling winds and freezing rain to see which individuals and teams can earn a spot on the weekly leaderboard by breaking the most targets.  This year was no different and when it was over the Lower Providence team had won 14 out of 17 weeks of competition with 6 team members placing in the top 10 out of 143 shooters.  Of the five categories of competitors (Senior Veteran, Veteran, Lady, Junior and Sub-Junior) Lower Providence team members were crowned Senior Veteran, Junior and Sub-Junior Champions.  Congratulations for a job well done!
