<\/a>Our events are open to the public and appropriate for all ages who can handle a rifle safely. We cover firearm safety, the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship, the history of April 19, 1775, and how marksmanship made a difference in our country’s founding.<\/p>\nEvents are 8:30 am – 3:30 PM with a lunch break. Half day events wrap around 12:15. <\/p>\n

Offerings<\/h2>\n
We are currently offering 2 different courses from the Revere’s Catalog. Events have no prerequisites and are open to anyone. <\/p>\n
- \n
- Rifle Fundamentals<\/strong> (Full day, no prerequisites) – Our signature offering covering safe gun handling and range rules, rifle parts\/operation and ammunition, the five steps to firing each shot, Natural Point of Aim, shooting from prone, standing, and sitting\/kneeling positions (including use of a sling), an introduction to sight adjustment and basic minute-of-angle calculation, and NPOA 3 position shooting. Students finish with the 50 foot “Morgan’s 13” Classifier and the 50 foot Rifle Qualifier.<\/li>\n
- Marksmanship Clinic<\/strong> (Half day) – Couldn’t hit that shingle on the Rifle Qualifier last time? Come back for a half day of instruction focused on the marksmanship portion of the curriculum and re-shoot the Morgan’s 13 Classifier and Rifle Qualifier course of fire.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Equipment<\/h2>\n
One of the goals of Revere’s Riders program is to help new shooters get started with rifle shooting. We can provide any equipment that you may not already have. Please let us know of your equipment needs ahead of time so that we can be prepared.<\/p>\n
If you have the following items, please bring them:<\/strong><\/p>\n
- \n
- Eye and Ear Protection<\/li>\n
- .22LR Rifle or Pistol Caliber Carbine (9mm, .40, .38\/357, .45) <\/li>\n
- At least 300 rounds of standard velocity ammunition (please try to bring ammo that is all the same type – weight, manufacturer, etc.)<\/li>\n
- Rifle Sling (LPRGC provides loaner slings)<\/li>\n
- Shooting Mat (LPRGC provides loaner mats)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
If you plan to bring your own rifle, we strongly suggest you bring one that you have at least 2 magazines which hold 10 rounds each.<\/p>\n
Please come dressed for the weather when we have an outdoor event. We ask shooters to be prepared for hot\/cold\/rainy weather. Loose fitting clothing, especially around the neck, is discouraged as hot brass can lodge against the skin and cause a burn. Bring plenty of water especially during the hot months, bring snacks to keep you fueled. Electrolyte packets are recommended.<\/p>\n\n
Loaner Policy<\/h3>\n
LPRGC allows our program the use of loaner rifles. Update: the loaner process has changed.<\/strong> Interested students can reserve a loaner using the SignUpGenius link listed under each event date above (Sept 20<\/a> \/ Oct 18<\/a>). There is no cost to reserve a loaner, but you are required to purchase ammunition from us for the event.<\/p>\n\n
