LPRGC Visits the Museum of the American Revolution!<\/h1>\n

On Sunday, 5\/31\/26 a great group of Club Members traveled down the Schuylkill to lovely old Philadelphia, and had a grand time getting a personal tour of the Museum of the American Revolution!\u00a0 There was so much to see, and so much to learn, and they let us play with their rifles!\u00a0 If you haven’t been to the MoAR, we are hoping to have another trip next year, so keep your eyes peeled for an announcement.\u00a0 Thanks so much to everyone who went; you really made the trip special.<\/p>\n

A New State Champion is Crowned!<\/h1>\n

The Rifle Committee is remiss in taking so long to recognize a Club Member who achieved a high honor- Joe Costanzo, who along with National Champion Chris Keebler, runs the Smallbore Program for LPRGC won the State Championship in Smallbore Rifle this year!\u00a0 Just look at the size of that trophy!\u00a0 Give Joe a big hand the next time you see him.<\/p>\n

Old Glory is Raised at the New Building!<\/h1>\n

On Saturday, 6\/28\/25 we had a nice dedication ceremony for the new Shed, which is now for all intents and purposes complete.\u00a0 We raised the American Flag, along with the 1st PA Regiment flag, at 2PM and gave her a nice salute with a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.<\/p>\n

Range Improvements for 2025!<\/h1>\n

The new building is done!\u00a0 The new Rifle Shed, as approved by the wonderful LPRGC Membership and Board, has been built and is ready for use.\u00a0 Along the way we’ve made some improvements to the range area, with some new stone added to remove a few tripping hazards, and a fresh coat of paint on the firing line structure.\u00a0 The Rifle Committee hopes that the range will be a pleasant experience for all who use it for a long time to come!\u00a0 See the pictures below for the new look!<\/p>\n

Range Improvements for 2023<\/h1>\n

In conjunction with the Membership approved Capital project to install an eyebrow on the range, the Rifle Committee took the opportunity presented by the extended range closure to make improvements in other places too!\u00a0 Gone are the old, outdated shooting benches- they’ve been replaced by custom-built center console benches much like the one that got good reviews in Position 5.\u00a0 Additionally, work on the berms has proceeded very well- the main impact berm has had several feet of screened soil laid over it, and earthen berms have been erected in front of the 25 and 50 yard target boxes.\u00a0 This should present a firing solution that reduces the risk of a skip or ricochet off of a hard surface.\u00a0 See the pics below for the new look!<\/p>\n

UPDATE 9\/9\/23:<\/b><\/p>\n

Well, thanks to all of the volunteers who came out, to Liberato Steel for their on-schedule delivery and problem solving, to APM Construction for their fine work, and to leaders like Chris Keebler, the project was completed on 9\/9\/23- right on schedule!\u00a0 The Range was re-opened for use Saturday afternoon, and we sure are happy with the results!\u00a0 LPRGC is driven by it’s volunteers- we literally couldn’t do it without you all- thanks again for coming out to support the Club and for putting in the “sweat equity” to make sure it’s a great place to shoot for years to come.<\/p>\n

New Range Protection System Installed on 100 Yard Range<\/h1>\n

Opened officially on October 1st, 2020, LPRGC is pleased to have completed a major capital improvement on the 100 yard range by removing aged infrastructure from the impact area and putting into place a system of baffles to provide a “zero sky” downrange experience that affords our shooters with a safe and clean environment to shoot.<\/p>\n

At the December 2018 LPRGC General Membership Meeting, a special award was presented to Andrew Schildt for retaining his title of PA State Champion Jr. High Power XTC<\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 Andrew initially won the title in 2017 and earned the 2018 title in competition earlier this year.\u00a0 He competes in High Power and Smallbore rifle events on a regular basis with great success and is known for his quiet demeanor and consistent marksmanship.\u00a0 This significant accomplishment is added to another acquired by Andrew two years ago, his Distinguished Expert<\/strong> classification in the NRA\/Winchester Smallbore Program<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The award was presented to Andrew by Ron Jones, Vice President.<\/p>\n

Revere’s Riders Class (Basic Rifle)<\/span><\/h2>\n
The first Revere\u2019s Riders<\/strong><\/span> class has come to an end and as expected, it was a great time. \u00a0A big \u201cThank You<\/strong>\u201d<\/span> goes out to all of the Instructors who taught and assisted students with the class. \u00a0From facilitating the class, providing range commands, helping students with problem areas, providing a great history lesson, explaining the intricacies when sighting in a rifle for those not as experienced, to making sure the teaching environment was kept safe for all students, the Instructors<\/strong><\/span> made it all possible!!<\/h5>\n
