Trap Shooting at Lower Providence Rod and Gun Club is a fun time for both beginners and experienced shooters. LPRGC offers 16 yard singles, handicap through 27 yards and doubles for those looking for an extra challenge. The trap field, located just outside the club house, overlooks a wooded area and has 4 voice activated oscillating trap machines which can be adjusted for fixed target shooting as well.
Young or old, experienced or not…come out and give it a try. We have 12 gauge ammunition for sale at the front desk. LPRGC does not offer rental guns.
We are open for Friday Night Trap from 5:00PM to 7:00PM year round. This is for shooters who are familiar with the game. Staff may stay open past 7PM if there are enough shooters to warrant doing so. No instruction is provided on Friday nights.
Wednesday Night Practice Shoots — From mid-March through the third Wednesday in November each year, beginning at 5PM. Practice squads are available and shooters with some experience can get advice from one of our NRA certified instructors. We no longer offer one-on-one instruction on Wednesday nights. Staff my close the shoot early if attendance is low.
We recommend that inexperienced shooters participate in one of the New Shooter Programs which will be held from April through October.
Junior Trap – Lower Providence Jr Trap is for youth 11-18 years old, with all levels of experience.
Manual Throwers are available to members during normal outdoor range hours, provided a trap event isn’t being held on the field. Check the club calendar to confirm availability. Members must provide their own targets and ammunition must meet the guidelines set forth in the club rules, which can be found on this website.
