Indoor Ranges

Old Range

The Old Indoor Range is 6 position heated facility with shooting from  7  to 15 yards. Movable benches are provided for member convenience and safety. All shooting must be done from the benches. Target stands are provided for member convenience. Please read the guidelines posted on the target stands. Membership card must be displayed while using the range.

New Range

The New Indoor Range is 9 position heated facility with shooting from  7  to 20 yards. Movable benches are provided for member convenience and safety. All shooting must be done from the benches. Target stands are provided for member convenience. Please read the guidelines posted on the target stands. Membership card must be displayed while using the range.

Range Rules Highlights

  • Eye and ear protection must be worn while shooting is in progress.
  • All shooting must be done from the behind the benches.
  • The ventilation fans must be on while using the indoor range.
  • Firearms must be uncased and cased at the bench.
  • Qualification card required to shoot on the indoor range.
  • No handling of firearms when people are down range.
  • No handling of firearms behind the firing line.
  • Members must stay with their guest’s at all times while on the indoor range.
  • Position targets per guidelines posted on the target stands.
  • Rifle Caliber ammunition is not permitted on the pistol ranges.  Only Pistol Caliber ammunition may be used.  Please refer to the list on page 14 of club rules for complete information

Range Hours
Range hours will be from 6:00 AM to Midnight year round.

Range Priority

Old Indoor Range – Action Qualified members have priority on the old indoor range except during Board sanctioned events on the New Indoor Range.  During Board sanctioned events on the New Indoor Range, general membership has priority on the Old Indoor Range

New Indoor Range – General membership has priority on the New Indoor Range.  The New Indoor Range is subject to closure for Board sanctioned events.  Please see the club calendar for dates and times when the range will be closed.

Range Qualification
Members must qualify in order to use the Indoor range. Qualification is in the Indoor range on the second Thursday of each month in conjunction with orientation.  You will need to place 9 out of 10 rounds on a standard NRA B2 Slow Fire Pistol Target. Current range qualification rules are:

Pistol Qualifications are divided into Rimfire and Centerfire.

  • Members may qualify for Rimfire only using any rimfire handgun, or
    for Centerfire using a centerfire handgun. Qualifying with a
    Centerfire Handgun will provide both Centerfire & Rimfire
    qualifications.

    • If a member initially qualifies with a Rimfire handgun, and at a
      later time, wishes to use a Centerfire firearm on any range, an
      additional qualification with a Centerfire handgun is required.
  • Pistol Qualification allows member use of permitted handguns of
    any caliber allowed on that specific range

The indoor range qualification is good for use on the outdoor 25 yard range.

Target Stands
Target stands have been provided for member use. Only paper or cardboard targets may be used. Please place the target stands so that all our rounds impact the backstop. Place your targets on the provided target stands using the guidelines posted on the target stands. You can bring your own target stand but must use only paper or cardboard targets.

Shooting From The Bench
Members must shoot from the benches between 7 and 15 yards (20 yards on the new range) as marked.  If you want to shoot a distances closer to your target, move your target closer to the bench but the targets must be within 2 yards of the backstop. You must make sure all your rounds impact the backstop.

Maintenance
Members need to clean up after themselves. Please take your targets to the trash and put the stands away. This is your club so please do your part to help keep it clean.
